Attendance: General Information

Attendance during Distance Learning

In general, MDUSD teachers are recording student attendance by 4:00 pm each day through the codes provided by CA State Department of Education to represent each student's highest level of participation for that day. As an alternative school, we follow a slightly different approach but will still use the following attendance codes.

  • = Present: Online synchronous instruction, 1:1 office hours
  • = Online Activity: Completed a test, turning in assignments, etc
  • = Communication w/ Certificated Staff: 2-way communication with student and/or parent online or by email
  • = Absent (none of the above engagement)

Support Staff Code:

  • = Support Service Access: Speech Therapy, OT, PT, Counseling
